The Collierville High School men's basketball team rebounded Thursday afternoon after their first round loss to Belleville East on Wednesday in the 39th annual Prairie Farms Holiday Classic with a nail-biting win in overtime against St. Louis' McCluer North, 53-51.

The Dragons had multiple opportunities to secure the victory in regulation but missed free throws and lay ups sent the game into extended play.

Junior point guard Dallas Berkley continued to improve his game and was the go-to-guy in overtime that converted a jumper just inside the three point line to give Collierville a 53-51 lead with six seconds remaining on the clock. A game-winning three point shot by the Stars would fall short and the Dragons prevailed.

Player of the Game, Elijah Lussier, caught the attention of the packed auxiliary gym crowd at Collinsville High School with a stellar performance. The uncommitted 2024 power forward had a game high 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots.

Collierville fell in the consolation semi-finals later in the evening, 62-41, to Carbondale (IL).

The Dragons' final game in the prestigious holiday tournament will be Friday morning. Collierville will tip-off against Chicago's Mundelein High School at 11:30am in the main gym at Collinsville.
