If mock drafts were a thing for high school fantasy football, Collierville quarterback Aidan Glover and his go-to wide receiver, Damien Dodson, would likely be projected in the first round. Glover, a Missouri commit, threw for 189 yards and for the second week in a row - accounted for 4 touchdowns. Dodson was targeted ten times, catching eight, for a total of 106 yards and a touchdown.

Demikah Gregory was Glover's first target when the pair connected in the end zone midway through the first quarter. Beech would immediately answer by taking the kick off to the house for a 90-yard return. Glover and Dodson made a connection for their score at the end of the 1st quarter that added points back to the home side of the board.

The two teams traded scores in the 2nd quarter, both were held scoreless in the 3rd quarter, and again traded scores in the 4th quarter that led to the electric environment's ending at Collierville 28, Beech 21.

Collierville's Martez Carter found the end zone for the second game in a row that proved to be the game winner with his 4th quarter leaping touchdown reception.

Dragons placekicker Grayson Litton was perfect on all PAT's.

The Dragons defense was led by the player of the game, John Clay Durley. The senior linebacker had seven total tackles.

Beech advanced to last year's state championship after beating Bartlett. Ironically, the Panthers will be Collierville's next strong test to start the 2023 season in a week 3 match-up. The Dragons (2-0) will travel to Bartlett (1-1) for a scheduled 7pm kick off next Friday.
