The Collierville men's golf team has won a state championship.
More hardware will be added to the trophy cases at Collierville High School after the men's golf team had an unforgettable performance on day 2 of the TSSAA State Championships in Sevierville on Friday (Oct. 7). The Dragons trailed Page by eight shots after day 1, 287-295, but had an impressive twelve shot lead over the Patriots to win by 4 shots and claim the state title Friday.
Collierville shot even on the 2nd day and it was a complete team effort. Junior sensations, Chance Elston and Kaiser Godinez, led the Dragons by shooting a total 143 and finishing (-1). Freshman phenom, Jackson Whaley, was (+1) and solidifying the state championship was senior Nathan London (+8). Also representing the Dragons at the state tournament were seniors William Kramer and Robert Daniel. The Dragons are coached by Mike Kent and Matt Kelley.
