Collierville lost in heartbreaking fashion to Bartlett on Friday night, falling 38-35 in a battle of two of the top teams in the state. A Panther field goal with less than one minute to play ultimately proved to be the difference, and the Dragons now move to 2-1 on the campaign.

Collierville dominated the air attack with Missouri commit Aidan Glover completing seventeen passes on thirty-three attempts for 299 yards. Bartlett's Geron Johnson was stellar on the ground and ran for 293 yards on 33 carries.

The Dragons started the contest with a long kick off return to the Bartlett 40 yard line. Unfortunately, the offense struggled on the opening drive and went four and out. Bartlett would get on the board first midway through the 1st quarter, but the Dragons immediately answered with a touchdown reception by Liberty commit, Eli Sisson, from Glover. At the end of one quarter of play it was Collierville 7 Bartlett 7.

Johnson would then begin his ground attack and scored with a 30 yard rushing touchdown early in the 2nd quarter. Glover then scampered for his own touchdown from the 9 yard line to even the score. Johnson would have the final say just before the half with his second rushing touchdown from eighteen yards out. At the half the score would be Bartlett 21 Collierville 14.

Collierville took the lead in the 3rd quarter with a pair of touchdown completions from Glover to Martez Carter. Bartlett tied the game at the end of the third quarter with another rushing touchdown from Johnson.

The 4th quarter was full of excitement. Johnson continued a career night with his fourth rushing touchdown. Glover once again responded and found his tailback, Logan Davis, for a 10 yard touchdown reception to again tie the game. The difference in the game would be the field goal by Bartlett's Pierce Rogers that split the uprights in the final minute. A solid drive at the end of regulation would come up short for the Dragons. Final Score: Bartlett 38 Collierville 35.

Collierville (2-1) will be back in action on Thursday, September 7th, when they host Douglass at Dragon Stadium at Landers SportsPlex. Tickets may be purchased by clicking the link below.
