Collierville is certainly looking like a No. 1.

The Dragons, who were tops in Class AAA in this week's Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association state rankings, got some strong pitching Friday to defeat Germantown, 6-1. Collierville is now 16-2.

Grayson Munyon got the win for the Dragons, allowing three hits in four innings. Jack Dougherty struck out all six batters he faced before Zach Jackson closed it out with a scoreless seventh. Gabe Nicholson paced the offense with two runs, a hit and an RBI while Ty Leatherwood had two hits and scored a run.

Tyler Miller took the loss for the Red Devils.

Cade Smith got 13 of his 15 outs via strikeout as DeSoto Central rallied from a first-inning deficit to defeat Southaven, 7-3. Shemaar Stapleton drove in two runs for the Jaguars (20-2). … Nick Seward scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the sixth as St. George's overcame Davidson Academy, 6-5. Andy Bean went 4 for 4 with a run and two RBI for the Gryphons while Hunter Schwartz doubled and drove in three runs. … Mick Arney went 2 for 2 with three RBI, Michael Dallas drove in two runs and Johnny Hamsley went 3 for 4 with a double and scored three times as Briarcrest doubled up ECS, 10-5.

Bartlett's Colton Brumley allowed just three hits while striking out five and walking none in a complete-game 3-0 win over Arlington. … Maurice Hampton hit his fifth homer of the year on the first pitch of the game and picked up the save in relief of Henry Wood as MUS won its seven straight, 4-0 over Tipton-Rosemark. Wood gave up two hits and struck out five in 5.2 for the Owls. … Ethan Burns homered, doubled and drove in three runs as Houston improved to 17-2 with a 10-4 victory over Germantown. Eliezer Bueno and Riley Hawthorne each drove in two runs for the Mustangs while Charlie Seahorn pitched 4.2 innings of four-hit relief for the win.

In softball, Arlington picked up two victories in the Morris Hunter tournament at Southaven, defeating South Panola 3-2 and Lafayette County (Miss.), 8-4.
